Olympics IV
The fourth edition of the UltraVanilla Olympic games took place on the 29th and 30th of April 2023. For the first time, the Opening Ceremony and the Closing Ceremony took place in the same location - Rotherhythe.
The overall champions were Team Cultist - Eraxa and TheSecondLord
These Olympics followed a point system as follows: 1st place = 3pts. 2nd place = 2pts. 3rd place = 1pt. 4th+ = 0 pts.
Results & Calendar
The tournament was played by mostly town teams, with the exceptions being both Cultists and Malusythe. Cultists was formed between Eraxa and TheSecondLord. With Malusythe being a unified team between Malus, Rotherhythe and Krill Lanka. Despite Second being a Rotherhythe resident, it was decided Malusythe would be represented as the home team on behalf of Rotherhythe in these games.

Events
The events of this Olympic games saw a range of new games introduced to the tournament. Only Ice Hockey and Fencing were returning events while Sumo was played in a new setting for the first time.
Day 1 - Opening Ceremony - Rotherhythe
For the first time, a dedicated venue was built for the ceremonies as opposed to using a space within a competition arena. The stage was built in Rotherhythe's World Stage, previous host to the Christmas Festival. This ceremony was called "The World's Voyage" and was themed around the Voyager challenges in celebration of the then-upcoming anniversary of Voyager I's completion. The athletes parade was called upon by Mattesco with an opening speech by Beeper.
Malusythe paraded last due to being the chosen team for representing Rotherhythe, and therefore hosts, following Olympic tradition.

Day 1 - Ice Hockey - Rotherhythe
Besides Slap off, Ice Hockey became the longest streak Olympic event at these games. Being played for the third time in a row, and fourth counting All-Stars. The game involves players punching a player (acting as a puck) around an Ice rink with the goal of landing them in the opponents goal. Players are able to use fishing rods to push and pull the puck or their opponent. This game was played in a bracket structure.
King was the defending champion from All-Stars, reclaiming the title in this event.
Malusythe secured 2nd place, the same result as Rotherhythe's effort in the last Olympics Hockey event
Day 1 - Competitive Mining - Steambolt
Competitive Mining was a new game to the Olympics, the first hosted by Steambolt. This game is a time based game with competitors getting 30 minutes total. Players must find ores and bring them back to a central location for counting. Each ore is assigned a point value and the most points wins. All other players are allowed to use spectator mode to view the progress of their teammates or other players.
Day 1 - Archery - Evergreen
Archery was a new sport introduced with these games. The aim of the game is to shoot a target from across a long distance. Upon hitting the target, it will be evaluated how many points the shot was worth via RNG associated with hit position. Each player gets 10 shots that are totalled up to a final score.
Day 1 - Fencing - Waterthorn
Fencing is a returning sport from the second Olympics. It involves 2 players attempting to push eachother off the field of play into water with knockback swords. The game was played in a bracket structure.
Day 1 - Riptide Rush - Totemia
Riptide rush was a new racing sport involving riptide tridents. Players would jump from platform to platform, all filled with water, using the riptide enchantment. The sport was played in 2 heats with the top 2 in each going to a final match.
Day 2 - Urban Warfare - Alliance City
Urban warfare was a new sport involving a Battle Royale around AC's City Centre. Players boarded a Battle Bus and were dropped over the field of play. Competitors could find their own loot and battle with it to the finish. The border wall closed in progressively aswell, starting from a large city centre zone and closing in on the park before finishing in the Blue tennis court.

This sport saw issues and controversy over the rules against teaming, which became impossible to mediate for referees. Although an obvious truce was binded between Cyprus and Illyria during the game, which was excused due to the lack of mentioning prior to the start of the game.
Illyria was disqualified after leaving the zone of play
Day 2 - Sky Race - Alliance City
Sky Race is a new sport involving a parkour course around Alliance City's skyline. The course is broken up into multiple segments including - a Rainbow bridge - A ladder tower climb - A puzzle through an airbus A380 - A sky road of ice - and climbing over the olympic rings for a final dash to the finish. Spectators were granted the /spectate command during this event.
Third place came down to a close race between Malusythe and Malbork

Day 2 - Sumo - Sosong
Sumo was a returning sport to the games. Previously played in Æopa, it was moved to Sosong for this event. The aim of the game is the same as the previous renditions - A kill or push out of the arena counts for victory, only now a water column is in the middle of the arena, which acts as an extra step of focus for the players to consider in combat.

Day 2 - Trident PVP - Cyprus
Trident PVP was a new sport to the Olympics. Previously making its debut at the Cannon day celebrations, the game involves a tournament bracket played 1 on 1 in each turn. Each turn gets 2 rounds. 1 practice round and 1 final round. In the final round, the winner is decided by who wins the battle. Players are given riptide tridents to speed up the combat.

Day 2 - Ice Jousting - Rotherhythe
Ice Jousting was the deciding event in the Olympics. Previous results had led to a situation where Malusythe's potential for Silver, Totemia's currently standing silver, Cyprus' chance to grab bronze, and a potential Malusythe drop from the podium were all possible depending on the outcome of this event.
In the end, Malusythe won gold in the event, boosting them to Silver, knocking out a potential Cyprus podium, and pushing Totemia to bronze. This was the first time Rotherhythe saw victory in their own Olympic Event.
The sport is played in a bracket structure. It involves players in boats on ice racing around a rink with crossbows. The winner is the first player to destroy their opponents boat with the bow.

Day 2 - Closing Ceremony - Rotherhythe
This ceremony, in tandem with the Opening Ceremony, was themed around the Voyager challenges. This ceremony was titled "Journeys End" marking the end to the declaration of the worlds Voyage at the Opening the previous day. This ceremony saw the extinguishing of the Olympic Flame being a ceremonial occassion for the first time and podium winners receiving their awards
