OPC
The Outpost Community (Referred to as OPC) is a discussion and debate event organised every 7 weeks to discuss future developments at the Outpost
Info
The Community meetings are designed to allow for open discussion and suggestions, which can offer progression to the Region and open up new ideas.
Not to be confused with USUV, which is an alliance group with membership rules.
Some items discussed may progress onward to USUV if necessary.
History and Purpose
The Outpost Community was formed in January 2023 by Mattesco in response to the growing amount of unity between towns in the region. The aim being that these towns should communicate on their own particular issues
This was also deemed as necessary, as USUV Meetings do not have the capacity to support the amount of depth that could be achieved with some discussion.
In August 2023 it was reorganised as an event to reduce conflict arising from a perceived need for membership barriers.
Meetings resumed in October 2023.
Feel free to read the FAQ below for more information regarding the purpose and position of this community
FAQ |
What do we do?The OPC serves as a catalyst for deeper talks and progress in the region. Since it's formation, progress has been made on establishing new resources that bring the Outpost up to date with previous warp points by allowing for united efforts in constructing assets as well as transportation. What change has it made?Since the formation of the Community in January 2023, a new transport link named OPE was established, a united effort that links Outpost towns underground. As well as this, many community questions on items about upgrades to the warp point were shared, seeing a new wave of warp renovations and support put into making the region friendlier to the wider community How does it differ from other united efforts? The OPC serves as a subordinate to organisation such as USUV or the Comrades Union. It has no impact directly over the towns that are members, instead, it serves to be a vessel for community discussion to take place between towns which skips past the progressive system of private negotiation while also bringing in more support for further proposals. With this goal in mind, it seeks to leave the higher more defined union for the jobs of uniting UV under certain rules while the OPC tackles specific issues of discussion and resolve. What are some points to support it?The key argument in favour of the organisations founding was the need for a place for specific talks. While USUV and Comrades Union both serve as a great place for sharing key server-wide issues that will place an impact on the server at large, the length of these meetings will not allow for in depth and specific discussions on a place such as the Outpost. The Outpost has unique characteristics in terms of how it grows and how it's warp behaves. As the newest warp, it is seen as a key target to support progress that can future-proof the region. Does this isolate previous warps? No. The OPC invites all players into its discussions, allowing players from all regions to have a say over how this progress happens. Additionally, the USUV - OPC deal specifies that both organisations will support the creation of specific groups for these regions. The Outpost's situation simply created an opportunity for community discussion on a more focused level. Additionally, the OPC Does not seek to develop an "Outpost" identity, rather it seeks to simply aid and create further discussion in the region. The development of a drink and anthem for the organisation does not equal that of one for the region, for example. It simply seeks to improve conditions in the area and make teamwork easier, it is a group focused on breaking borders between towns as opposed to building one around the Outpost Does this affect USUV decision making in the Outpost? No. USUV is actively invited to continue debating and making changes in the region. The OPC's mission is to delve into specifics that do not fit in USUV timetables, as well as being a useful intermittent meeting that can provide more discussion in the gaps between certain meeting dates. The USUV-OPC deal specifies this relationship of co-operation and joint discussion. |

Agenda
The agenda's used to be layed out similarly to USUV's previous style, however due to the need for separating the two organisations, this was changed to its own unique design in May 2023 to help create a unique and interesting look to better suit the community meetings
