416

From UltraVanilla

416 is an alternative name for the server and is used as its logo. Its exact origin is classified, although there have been many theories over the years, none of which have ever been confirmed.

The logo depicts runic symbols resembling 416, the color of which changes each month.

Theories

Rune Conversion

A common theory is that 416 is a conversion of the text "UV" into a runic script. However, when inputting this into any runic converter no similar result can be achieved. This has lead some to believe that there was a mistake made in the script.

Toronto Area Code

Toronto, Canada uses the area codes of 416, 647, and 437. This has lead some to believe there could be a connection to the server, however the server has never been hosted in Toronto and there is no obvious connection with former server owners.

Akoot's Lucky Number

It is possible that 416 could just be a random number chosen by Akoot towards the beginning of the server, but it is equally possible there is a deeper meaning. This being a "lucky number" has been mentioned on several occasions.

IP Address

In the early days of the server there was some speculation that 416 may relate to the IP address of the server, or that the IP previously contained this number at the start.

Blacklight: Retribution

According to a story by Akoot, he played the game Blacklight: Retribution and there was this one guy who's name was 416, and he randomly remembered it when asking the current players for a new server name. It is unknown if this was a real story.

Other Versions

418

418 is a version used on April Fools, with the logo also having a teapot. This is a reference to the HTTP 418 I'm a teapot status response.

641

641 is an alternative name for the Creative Server. It is used because the plot sizes are exactly 641x641, and was picked due to it being both a prime number and a rearrangement of 416.
